What I Used to Hate About Social Media Management (and How This Changed)

I’ve been working in digital marketing for about a decade now. And while I’ve always loved content marketing (mostly because I LOVE writing), I used to dread social media management. Of course, I would do all the strategizing and implementation related to the social media marketing processes of the company where I worked, but I would literally dread the time of the day that I had to devote to this part of my work.

It’s not that I don’t see the value of social media platforms as a marketer. To the contrary, I fully appreciate what impact social networking has on establishing the online presence of a brand, building its reputation, generating leads, and converting them into customers.

My issue with marketing on social media is that it’s so boring and so tedious. At least, when it’s done the traditional way.

The combined power of social media marketing and my active hatred for it is what pushed towards Studiorific. I know it sounds counterintuitive at first, but it actually makes sense. Studiorific Social tools have been able to address and reinvent all the things that I used to hate about social media management.

Uploading Photos and Videos Over and Over Again

We all know that visual content is the bread and butter of social media marketing. While featured images and in-content images are very important for a blog post presentation and even for ranking on search engines, the importance of visuals in content marketing and social media management cannot be compared.

With millions of new social media posts each and every day, you have to publish images and videos which make users stop and want to see more while scrolling down their news feed.

What this means for a digital marketer is that you have to upload at least one mesmerizing photo or video with each of your social media posts. And to have a viable social media strategy, you need to post a few times a day on each of your social media accounts. That means that you have to spend most of your time uploading content, and to be honest, that’s not very creative and exciting. Actually, it’s plain boring.

Well, that’s no longer the case. Unlike most social media management tools out there, Studiorific Social provides customers with a File Manager and free storage space on it. Trust me, that’s a game-changing feature.

In practical terms, this means that you can upload your photo and video files once – the first time when you schedule them for publication on your social media platforms – and then you can reuse them as many times as you want. Without the need to constantly re-upload them.

That not only saves me hours of wasted time each week, but also makes social media management so much less tedious and so much more fun. Now I really have the time and the energy to get creative with the social media post copy and with the hashtags rather than wasting my resources on uploading visual content files.

Being Repetitive

Another thing which I used to absolutely hate about managing social media accounts is just how repetitive and tedious the work related to this is. Scheduling posts on social media is basically the same few tasks being repeated over and over again:

  • Upload a photo or a video
  • Write a social media caption
  • Add hashtags
  • Add tags if relevant
  • Publish

That’s so different from writing blogs where every single blog post is different from the previous one in terms of length, keywords, topic, structure, images, internal and external links, and everything else.

Thankfully, Studiorific Social has solved this issue for me as well. I can use the platform to prepare the same identical post to go on multiple accounts on different social media networks once. I don’t have to upload the same image or write the same caption ever again. I can schedule the same post on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, Reddit, LinkedIn, and Google My Business quickly and efficiently. YouTube marketing is also possible with this social media management app.

Believe it or not, hashtags were another thing that I just dreaded about scheduling posts on social media. It’s so boring and cumbersome to have to type the # sign and the exact same text with each of your posts. At the same time, there’s nothing you can do about this. You can’t just skip using hashtags as that’s how your posts get noticed on social media platforms, and that’s how you keep bringing new users to your account and converting them into followers.

Well, Studiorific Social has actually done something about this serious problem in social media management. The Caption tool allows you to save frequently used captions. While you can save just about any social media caption, I find this feature extremely useful for saving the hashtags that I use with virtually all of my posts on social media.

This only saves me tons of time but also brings me back the joj of social media marketing.

Having to Be Present Around the Clock

To run a successful social media marketing campaign, you have to publish content at least a few times a day. My experience shows that to achieve real results, you need to have a new social media post once every half an hour. Not to mention that through most of my career I have been marketing products to target customers on the other side of the ocean. This means that I would need to stay online, on my desktop or mobile, all night to grab the attention of social media users when they are most active.

Instagram marketing is a whole different story as you can’t even post from the comfort of your computer but have to use your phone due to the usability restrictions imposed by the app.

With Studiorific Social, I don’t have to worry about any of these problems either. I can schedule my posts for the day, for the week, or even for the entire month in advance, at one go, and forget about social media marketing for a few weeks.

Moreover, when scheduling a post, I can choose whether to have it published just once or to have it reposted at an interval selected by me. For example, I can have our green content be reposted on our social media accounts every month. Or I can have our new marketing promotion be reposted every day to reach out to the maximum number of users and potential customers.

Just a few short weeks were enough to change my relationship with social media management and make me realize why some enjoy it so much. Now that tediousness and repetition don’t have to be a part of the equation, I LOVE social media marketing.
